Elementary way to enjoy World Book Day at Hillcroft Primary School

Sherlock Holmes and The Incredible Hulk  were among the famous faces brought to life at Hillcroft Primary School for this year’s World Book Day.
Pupils and staff at the school let their imaginations run riot. Super heroes worked alongside Minions, princesses and the Artful Dodger from Oliver Twist, as young readers took part in a variety of events.
Popular characters from children’s literature filled the school, there was even a crocodile from the Peter Pan story to add a bit of wildlife to the proceedings.
Pupils took part in a World Book Day parade during the afternoon, helping to celebrate the national event’s 20th anniversary of spreading the joy of reading around the country.
“There was a wonderful atmosphere around the school and it was great fun for everyone. It is not every day you bump into Gangsta Granny, an Umpa Lumpa and Harry Potter in the classroom,” said  Head Teacher Miss Kellie Brazier.
Hillcroft Primary School is a member of the GLF Schools multi-academy trust.
