In line with national expectations, Hillcroft conducts statutory tests at the following points during the children's time at school:

Early Years and Foundation Stage;

Year 1 Phonics Screening;

End of Key Stage 1 (Teacher assessed SATs);

End of Key Stage 2 (SATs).

In 2017 the new, more challenging national curriculum was assessed by new tests and interim frameworks for teacher assessment. Results are no longer reported as levels. Each pupil receives their test results as a scaled score, as well as teacher assessment based on the standards in the newly published Teacher Assessment Frameworks.  These assess children against a national standard, and reflect the new Primary Curriculum introduced in 2014.

As such, these tests look different from those in 2015, and cannot be compared with previous results.  The standards expected from children both at Key Stage 1 and 2 is far higher than it has ever been before.  As the new standard is higher than the old one, fewer children have met the new expected standard than the previous standard.

For Attainment Reports for the above testing points, please see the links below.

If you have any queries regarding these assessments or results please contact Mrs Swain through the School Office.
