  • Each session is supported by the manager or deupty manger, and up to 9 additional staff  (following Ofsted’s required staffing ratio)
  • Each session in the EYFS provision is supported by a room lead and EYFS qualified member of staff

Acorns After School Club caters for up to 86 children per day during term time. Children from the age of 3 years to 11 years are welcome. It is a place where children can relax, play and have fun learning.  There are many games and activities for the children to participate in, creating opportunities which will support children at play, promoting development, learning, creativity and independence. We often use our kitchen area for cooking activities, the children are then able to sample their cooking later as part of their snack e.g pizzas, biscuits or cakes. We make use of the playing field and playground, with a wide range of outdoor toys including ball games, bikes and using the trim trail.

We are fully committed to working in partnership with parents/carers and their children.

Acorns is managed by Hillcroft Primary School and therefore undergoes inspections by OFSTED. This ensures that we provide a high standard of care at all times.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast club is open from 7.30am to 8.35am.  We can cater for 70 children from 7.30am onwards. The children can choose from a selection of nutritional foods and can enjoy their breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere and when they are finished they are able to choose which activities they would like to do.  Once the bell goes, we escort all children to their classrooms ready for their school day.

The children's snack varies each day, but food we provide includes a selection of different fruits and vegetables, yoghurts, sandwiches/baguettes and corn cakes/crackers. Drinking water is available throughout the afternoon. This is a snack, and not intended to be a substitute for an evening meal. Children are welcome to bring a snack box if they prefer.
