Our Reading Ambassadors support the implementation of the school's Reading intent, focussing on ensuring that every child leaves Hillcroft enthused about, and engaged with, reading.  Reading Ambassadors are passionate readers themselves, and promote this love across the school.
This year, their focus will continue to be developing this engagement with reading across the school as well as developing the role of the Library and the management of it.  
The love of reading is further promoted through the following initiatives across the school:
  1. Our new CUSP reading curriculum in Key Stage 2
  2. Class reading
  3. Disciplinary reading opportunities 
  4. Reading with the community
  5. Collective reading in the school library
  6. Celebrating World Book Day
  7. Reading competitions 
  8. Providing autonomy for children to choose to read during free time
  9. Reading sheds in the playgrounds for children to have access to reading books at all times during the day
